Since its foundation in 1986, our aim has been to represent the KGL (King’s German Legion) and in particular the riflemen of the 2nd Light Battalion during their active days (1803-1816).
Our uniforms and equipment are made from museum pieces, archaeological finds, contemporary sources and images to give the most accurate representation of this era. We also apply this standard to drill and tactical maneuvers. We work according to the original drilling manual, which allows us to maintain and expand our standard.
Living history is also a very important part of the KGL, as a soldier of this era spends more time in the camp than on the battlefield. This gives the non-combat portion of the unit, in particular, a good opportunity to depict life on a Napoleonic campaign.
Sinds de oprichting in 1986 is het ons doel geweest om de KGL (King’s German Legion) en in het bijzonder de schutters van het 2nd Light Battalion te vertegenwoordigen tijdens hun actieve dagen (1803-1816).
Onze uniformen en uitrusting zijn gemaakt van museumstukken, archeologische vondsten, hedendaagse bronnen en afbeeldingen om de meest nauwkeurige weergave van dit tijdperk te geven. Deze norm passen we ook toe op de drill en tactische manoeuvres. Wij werken volgens de originele drill handleiding, waarmee wij onze standaard kunnen handhaven en uitbreiden.
Ook levende geschiedenis is een zeer belangrijk onderdeel van de KGL, aangezien een soldaat van deze tijd meer tijd in het kamp doorbrengt dan op het slagveld. Dit geeft met name het niet-gevechtsgedeelte van de eenheid een goede gelegenheid om het leven op een veldtocht in de Napoleontische tijd weer te geven.
