The Coldstream Guards 1815 are unique in the world of re-enactment in that we portray the history of not only one of the most famous Regiments of the British Army, but one that is still in service. The Coldstream Guards was originally formed as part of Oliver Cromwell’s New Model Army in 1650, and has over 360 years of continued unbroken service from the Civil War to the present day. Our attention to detail and dedication to its history has enabled us to forge close links with the modern Regiment of today and we have had the great honour to parade with them on several occasions.
As a Napoleonic re-enactment group we seek to portray the life of the ordinary rank and file soldiers of Number 6 Company of the 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards, as it would have been during the Waterloo Campaign of 1815. This is a standard Company of the Line which was the backbone of the Army and is not a specialist Grenadier or Light Company.
De Coldstream Guards 1815 zijn uniek in de wereld van het re-enactment waarin wij de geschiedenis uitbeelden van niet alleen het meest beroemde Regiment in het Brite leger, maar een dat nog steeds actief dient. De Coldstream Guards was in den beginnen gevormd als deel van Oliver Cronwell’s Nieuw Model Leger in 1650, en heeft meer dan 360 jaar ononderbroken gediend sinds de burgeroorlog tot op de dag van vandaag. Ons oog voor detail en toewijding voor zijn geschiedenis heeft ons geholpen om een hechte band te creëren met het hedendaagse Regiment en hebben wij de grote eer gehad met hen tijdens verschillende gelegenheden op parade te staan.
Als een Napoleontische re-enactment groep beelden wij het leven uit van een gewone rang en stand soldaat van nummer 6 compagnie van het 2e bataljon Coldstream Guards, zoals het geweest is gedurende de Waterloo campagne van 1815. Dit is een standaard compagnie van linie welke de ruggengraat was van het leger en is geen speciale Grenadier of lichte compagnie.
